Heraklion airport information
Heraklion Airport is located just 3 miles or 5 km east of the city of Heraklion. It is one of the biggest airports in Greece, the third busiest after Athens and Thessaloniki.

Heraklion Airport boasts a 2,680-metre-long runway and several areas for VIP and private aircrafts and jets. It receives hundreds domestic and international flights per day and works 24 hours per day all year long. Summer months are the busiest period of time, as the island of Crete accepts visitors and tourists from all over the world.
The airport features five cafés and snack bars and one restaurant. There are duty free shops for international flights and regular shops located on the ground floor.
Visitors can also use the several lockers located at the Parking lot of the airport, which is open 24/7 to travellers and visitors. There is also a currency exchange bureau and ATM cash machines located in the main building. In addition, all possible conveniences to disabled people are offered inside and outside the airport.
