Heraklion Airport is located just 3 miles or 5 km east of the city of Heraklion. It is one of the biggest airports in Greece, the third busiest after Athens and Thessaloniki.

Heraklion Airport boasts a 2,680-metre-long runway and several areas for VIP and private aircrafts and jets. It receives hundreds domestic and international flights per day and works 24 hours per day all year long.
